Domestic Abuse Experts

Redesigning the website for MyCWA’s B2B offering, domestic abuse training and consultation for professionals.

Project role: UI / web design.

Project period: 20th September - 4th October

The project

After volunteering my services to domestic abuse support charity MyCWA, they expressed the need for a strategic redesign of their B2B consultancy and training website. They were getting direct traffic from events but their site wasn’t driving the conversions they wanted.

They asked for a clean UI with lots of use of white space, and a fast turn around. The project commenced on the 20th September and the site launch on the 4th October. In those two weeks we were able to create the following…

"Partnering with Jess has truly transformed our charity’s online presence. We initially built a basic website to showcase our training and consultancy services, but without internal web development or UX expertise, we quickly reached our limits. Jess stepped in and worked her magic on our site, and the results have far exceeded our expectations."

What was needed

After my initial review of their website we agreed that, to improve useability, their site needed:

a navigation bar & improved navigation

a condensed header section that captures the user’s attention and helps them understand what the site is about.

additional pages to advertise their whole offering (consultancy & engage approach)

social proof (in the form of training attendee quotes)

clear and relevant CTAs

to highlight the team/ those that deliver the offering

The result

The site's refreshed design, is now more accessible, and easy to navigate for both professionals and survivors, making it more inclusive and visually inviting, helping to establish greater trust among visitors.

The backend has been organised and all content is editable, allowing the DAE team to manage and expand the site independently going forward—a crucial benefit given the limited internal resources for ongoing web development. Ultimately, the redesign project has empowered DAE to better support those impacted by domestic abuse, providing a user-friendly website aligned with the organization's long-term goals.

"The brief was complex—we had a lot of information to communicate while needing a clean, intuitive user experience—but Jess understood our goals right from the start, despite not being deeply familiar with our organisation.

Beyond her immense talent, Jess is an absolute joy to work with. We couldn’t be more grateful, and we wholeheartedly recommend her to any organisation looking to make an impact with their online presence."
